Item Processor Jobs Vacancy in Riverview Community Bank Vancouver Jobs Details:
We are hiring for an Item Processor who will process checks and other online items involving deposit accounts, creates electronic files for transmissions and daily downloads. Provides support to Item Processing and Accounting areas.
This is a part time position and will be based at the Riverview Center. The normal hours for this position are 20-25 hours per week. Flexibility to work additional hours to cover the department when needed is required for this position.
Processes checks and other online items involving deposit accounts, creates electronic files for transmissions and daily downloads. Provides support to Item Processing and Accounting areas.
Accurately balances transit batches received from branches; works closely with branches to resolve any discrepancies.
Write proof corrections and process re-scans.
Scans online work from Accounting/Operations/Loan Servicing and uploads into AVCM.
Monthly CD ROM statement preparation.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Helps with the preparation of paper cash letters for Canadian, Foreign and non-imageable items.
Assist as needed with other duties in the Item Processing Department and Accounting areas.
Interacts with and understands how other departments affect Item Processing.
Participate in and complete training objectives with passing scores.
Follow all Riverview policies and procedures.
Other duties may be assigned.
Daily contact with supervisor to receive direction and interpretation of new or existing policies or procedures.
Confer daily with Item Processing Department and other departments and/or branches providing assistance and coordination of item processing.
Occasional contact with outside financial intermediaries such as auditors and examiners.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and six months related experience and/or training.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to communicate effectively with various levels of customers or employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Basic knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office products and/or equivalent computer software applications.
High attention to detail.

The noise level in the Check Processing work environment is usually loud resulting from the processing equipment. However, the Accounting Department environment noise is more moderate as related to general business equipment.
